Embassy staff are expected to move to their new home in the Nine Elms area of Battersea, south of the Thames, in August.
Qatari Diar confirmed it is in the process of procuring contractors for the demolition and enabling works phases, which will kick off the revamp of the Eero Saarinen grade II-listed building into the 137-bed hotel.
