A 21st-century reinterpretation of an ancient Egyptian pyramid by Foster and Partners opened this week in Kazakhstan.
Known as the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation, the £37m building was built in 18 months by Sembol Construction of Istanbul with a team of mainly Turkish consultants including Tabanlioglu as associate architect. Buro Happold was structural engineer.
