Eight schools took part in a competition that involved students designing their own schools

Pupils at two schools won a competition to design schools for themselves at the BSEC conference.

Lauriston Primary School in north London won the “Design my Learning Space” contest on day one. Worcestershire’s Hagley Catholic Upper School won on day two.

Partners on the contest were Carleton Furniture, EC Harris, RIBA, Steljes and Surface to Air.

Eight schools from around the country took part in the competition, which was judged by a panel of specialist school architects.

The winning students worked with architects and designers at BSEC to develop their ideas into real proposals.
