Engineering firm Hyder Consulting today reported a 38% rise in pre-tax profit in its full-year results and said it is confident of further growth.
The company posted adjusted profit before tax of £14.4m for the year to 31 March 2008, up from £10.4m for the same period last year.
Revenue was up 15% on 2007 to £233.7m, almost half of which was generated by the Asia Pacific and Middle East regions.
The firm, which completed six acquisitions during the year, including Dubai-based architect Holford & Associates, said its order book has increased by 29% to a record £314m.
Alan Thomas, chairman of Hyder Consulting, said: “I am pleased to report another year of strong growth for the group, with results well ahead of last year and ahead of market expectations.
“The order book has grown to a record level of £314m, which gives us a solid foundation for the current year.”
He added that the board is “confident” of further progress this year and is well placed to grow in international markets.
