Elizabeth House architect sees income up to £44m
The architect behind the planned makeover of Elizabeth House next door to London’s Waterloo station saw pre-tax profit jump 80% last year.
AHMM, which is also behind the 1 Broadgate scheme for British Land, posted a profit of £1.6m in the year to March 2019. Turnover was up 14% to just over £44m.
The firm said the bulk of its income, £42m, came from the UK with the remainder split between Europe and the rest of the world.
It added that a profit share payout for eligible staff had been set at 9% of earnings.
According to the latest WA Top 100, the firm is the third largest in the UK with 297 architects employed.
The Elizabeth House scheme for developer HB Reavis involves tearing down the current 16-storey 1960s building, designed by John Poulson Architects, and replacing it with three stepped buildings rising from 16 storeys to 31 storeys.
The 1 Broadgate scheme is the latest part of British Land’s redevelopment of Broadgate Circle and will involve building a 14-storey block at 1-2 Broadgate. The £300m project will be built by Sir Robert McAlpine.
Both schemes were given planning earlier this year.
