Six-storey ‘over-site’ office development to be delivered by client Grosvenor
Plans by Crossrail and development partner Grosvenor for a major office development above the £15bn scheme’s Bond Street station have won planning.
The 65,000 sq ft ‘over-site’ project, at 65 Davies Street in Mayfair, is designed by PLP Architecture and was approved by Westminster council on Tuesday evening.
According to Crossrail, the six-storey scheme has been “carefully designed” to be sensitive to the traditional architecture of neighbouring Mayfair buildings and incorporates high-quality natural materials in its facade.
It also includes a ventilation shaft that will be constructed as part of the works to build the Crossrail station’s western ticket hall.
Ian Morrison, London estate development director at Grosvenor, said: “We’re working closely with Crossrail’s team and PLP Architecture to deliver a striking new building that complements and enhances the urban form of North Mayfair and responds to the demand for office space with excellent design and sustainability credentials in this part of the capital.”
