Practice puts forward plans for retail and cinema town centre complex

Architect TP Bennett has submitted plans for a £60 million retail and leisure development in Rochdale town centre.

The Rochdale Riverside scheme includes 18,500sq m of retail and leisure space and a six-screen cinema. Retail units will all be constructed to a height of around 10 metres to allow retailers to trade from both ground and mezzanine levels.

The scheme is being delivered jointly by Genr8 Developments and investor Kajima in partnership with Rochdale borough council.

The Rochdale Riverside scheme forms part of a wider £250 million regeneration programme for the Greater Manchester town.
