Ellis Williams Architects' design for a new 110,000 sq ft building at Sportcity will include a 2,000-seater cycling arena
This is the proposed design for a £24m BMX centre at Sportcity in east Manchester that will be submitted to the city council's executive committee next week.
If given the go-ahead, the 110,000 sq ft building designed by Ellis Williams Architects will include a 2,000-seater BMX arena plus offices for the headquarters of the British Cycling Federation.
A public consultation on the plans will take place on 4 August. Subject to funding and planning approval, construction is expected to start by January next year and complete in March 2011.
