Housing association Places for People (PfP) is to offer 20 of these new homes in Wolverton near Milton Keynes to customers on a “try-before-you-buy” basis in order to beat the credit crunch.

The social landlord confirmed that it was pressing ahead with the scheme despite the downturn. It will also offer customers who rent for a year and then decide to buy up to 10% of the home’s value as a deposit to help them get a mortgage. PfP is building 300 homes on the 10.5 acre Wolverton Park site and expects to finish the scheme in January.
