Plans to double size of Manchester media quarter
Peel Holdings has submitted plans for a £1bn extension of Manchester’s Media City which will double the size of the development.
Masterplanner Chapman Taylor has presented plans for a second phase of the media quarter to Salford council, which includes ten new buildings, including a 17-storey tower by Sheppard Robson. If approved, construction could start in 2017.
Media City (pictured) is home to 250 businesses, including major northern hubs for the BBC and ITV, as well as studios including the set of Coronation Street.
