Hamer brings 20 years of experience of business management to the Association for Consultancy and Engineers
Paul Hamer has taken office as chair of the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) for 2012.
Hamer, who has been chief executive of consultant WYG since March 2009, has 20 years of experience in business management spanning the contracting, nuclear, oil and chemical sectors.
Nelson Ogunshakin, chief executive of ACE, said: “His experience and leadership qualities will ensure that ACE continues to provide an influential voice for the industry as it faces the challenges of 2012 and beyond.”
Hamer added: “It is an honour and a privilege to be appointed chairman of ACE in what will be an exciting but challenging year for the industry. During 2012, we have a great opportunity to globally showcase our talents and skills through the world-class infrastructure that has been created for the London Olympics.”
Hamer will continue in his position as chief executive of WYG, while Graham Nicholson will now serve as ACE’s immediate past chair.
