Scheme in Belfast a mix of Code Level five and six homes
Architect Paul Davis & Partners has won planning permission for 65 low carbon homes in Belfast.
The 21,000 sqm scheme, for Oaklee Homes Group at Carryduff in south east Belfast, consists of 62 new houses designed to Code for Sustainable Homes level five and three dwellings to comply with level six.
Homes are a mix of social rental houses and affordable properties for sale.
A spokesman for the firm said: “The energy strategy for the development is based on passive measures that draw upon the site’s microclimate, extensive south facing aspect and the building form as well as the most efficient equipment and smart homes control systems.”
The practice was awarded the project following an international competition which attracted 64 entries.
The first phase of the £8.7 million scheme, which also involves QS Consarc, and structural engineer Ian Black Consulting, is starting on site this summer.
