Lusso Interiors – for its installation at Caerphilly County Borough Council, Hengoed
Lusso Interiors was contracted to provide a bespoke solution for the new corporate offices of Caerphilly County Borough Council. The project consisted of two main areas, the first being a 90m long, 22m high glazed atria screen, with varying performance requirements for sound and fire integrity, in addition to integral blinds and film manifestation.
The internal office partitions comprised single and double frameless glazing, with a sound performance of up to 47dB. The double-glazed frameless partitions incorporated motorised integral blinds, while film manifestation was applied to single glazing.
Architect Kennedy James Griffiths also received an award.

Stortford Interiors – for its contract at Thomas Deacon Academy, Peterborough
One of the largest state schools in Europe, and the most expensive state school in Britain at £46m, Thomas Deacon Academy opened in September 2007.
Stortford Interiors was required to meet the design criteria of glazed screens capable of withstanding a crowd pressure point loading of 1.5kN, 30-minute fire-rated double-glazed screens and an acoustic performance of 42dB.
To achieve this, Stortford used floor to slab Komfort Polar Double Glazed/PolarTec partitioning. The installation also included the supply of doors and over panels, as well as integrated fire-rated doors to the glazed screens.
