Balfour Beatty company will manage high-speed rail projects in Illinois, Ohio and Florida
Parsons Brinckerhoff, the professional services arm of Balfour Beatty, has won three rail contracts in the US that are backed by $3.75bn (£2.5bn) of federal funding.
The projects are to manage high-speed and intercity passenger rail projects in Illinois ($1.1bn), Ohio ($400m) and Florida ($2.25bn).
Balfour Beatty chief executive, Ian Tyler, said: “Building on PB’s several decades of planning and analysis of high-speed rail in the US, and extensive experience of the design and management of high-speed rail projects in Asia, we are now a key player in implementing these important rail projects in the US.”
Balfour Beatty bought Parsons Brinckerhoff for £380m in September last year.
