Work is now complete on £7.5m watersports building that is designed to achieve BREEAM rating of 'very good'
Construction work is complete on a £7.5m watersports building at Crosby Marine Lake in Waterloo, Liverpool.
Designed by Owen Ellis Architects, the Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre provides classrooms, changing facilities, a gym, bar, outdoor seating area, conference rooms and 14n twin bedrooms. Particular emphasis has been given to facilities for disabled users.
The building has been designed to achieve a BREEAM rating of ‘very good’ and energy performance rating of ‘A’.
Green features include cedar cladding, natural stone gabions, natural ventilation, low water sanitaryware, super insulation and a biomass boiler.
From the rear, the bulk of the building is hidden by an extensive green roof, whilst the lakeside elevation is heavily glazed to take advantage of the lakeside location and Crosby Coastal Park.
Services design was by AECOM.
