Dublin’s Central Bank has become the first office building in Ireland to gain a BREEAM “outstanding” rating. The 19,300m2 building, being built by Irish contractor Walls Construction, gained the BREEAM “outstanding” certification at the design stage after scoring 86.7% out of the available credits. It has a combined heat and power plant as well as an advanced mix mode ventilation system. In addition, extensive sub-metering for lighting, small power and energy for heating will link to the BMS and enable the end user to establish detailed information on energy consumption.
