Carol Carter has replaced Karen Wilson
Housing association Origin Housing has appointed Carol Carter as its new chief executive.
She succeeds Karen Wilson who stepped down from the role in March after 12 years.
Carter was previously group director of housing at fellow housing association The Hyde Group where she led the organisation through a major transformation programme.
Prior to her time at The Hyde Group Carter Carter worked for several other housing associations and local authorities including Circle Housing.
Carter said: “Origin Housing is an organisation with huge potential. It has strong values underpinning its charitable purpose which really resonate with me, and an impressive legacy of innovatively investing in communities, in partnership with local people and a wide range of stakeholders.
“Looking ahead, I want us to become the go-to place for those looking for a decent affordable home in London and the Home Counties – particularly assisting those who cannot otherwise access the market.
“Over the coming years, we will look to increase the number of homes we build to help tackle the housing shortage in the South East, continue to invest wisely in our existing homes and offer great value for money services for our residents and those who receive our support and care.”
