The pyramid at the recent Cannes Film Festival contains seven screens for specialist film screening
Architect OMA has released an image of its temporary seven screen cinema pavilion which was erected at the Cannes film festival specifically for the screening of rapper Kanye West’s debut short film.
After entering the pyramid via a red carpet, cinema goers in the 200 seat auditorium are surrounded by seven screens.
OMA worked with Cannes-based production team Ar’Scene to optimize the triangular design for the complex sound and projection equipment.
The film, entitled Cruel Summer, “was envisioned for this space as a constellation of projections that wrap around the audience through the configuration of the screens” according to the firm’s press release.
