This scheme by developer Christian Sinclair is one of six to win a Building for Life award this year

Designed by architect Project Orange, the Sinclair Building in Sheffield was created from a rundown terrace, with shops and cafes below and 22 homes above. Other winners of the scheme, which rates developments against 20 criteria on design, construction and sustainability, included developers First Base, Berkeley Homes and Barratt Homes and housing association the Guinness Trust
