Firm to provide M&E for Willmott Dixon’s Institute of Art and Design

Specialist contractor NG Bailey has won a £15m mechanical and electrical engineering job for Birmingham University.

The firm will provide full M&E services to the universities new 18,000sq m Institute of Art and Design, which is being built by Willmott Dixon.

The facility will contain TV and radio editing suites, theatre spaces and photograph and graphics studios.

Steve Briggs, managing director of NG Bailey’s engineering south division, said: “This is a fantastic win for the company as it demonstrates that we provide a truly integrated service.”

He added: “We hope to use this build as an example to the industry of how Building Information Modeling can improve the efficiency and accuracy of a project and how it should be a standard element of the construction process
