Hub Residential, a new London housing developer, is launched at Mipim
A new £100m London housing developer, called Hub Residential was launched yesterday at Mipim.
The brainchild of founding partners Tim Barlow, and Robert Sloss, the firm has raised £100m from a single wealthy investor in order to develop mid-market housing projects of anything between 30 to 250 units.
Barlow says the funding is a first phase, and the ten-strong team hopes to have all of the money committed to schemes within the next twelve months, before a second funding round.
Hub Residential will invest either on its own or with partners in schemes within London, though not at the “super-prime” end of the market. It is in discussions with Newham Council over one site in the Lea Valley, and says it is likely to partner with a major housebuilder.
Barlow said: “With continued demand for housing, but severe constraints on both equity and debt funding, we think Hub Residential can step in and unlock the development process.”
