Contractor will deliver on all elements of programme except the tunnels

Network Rail will tender for a delivery partner to oversee a £3bn programme of work on the £16bn Crossrail project.

Major programme director Robbie Burns said: “This tender is an important first step towards delivering Crossrail and the improvements at Reading. We are looking for an organisation that has the key skills to complement our experienced in-house team effectively.”

Network Rail is in charge of everything beyond the central tunnelling of Crossrail, including electrification, junction remodelling, station rebuilding and more than 20 platform extensions.
