This health and safety myth surfaced at the time the Work at Height Regulations came into being
This was widely reported at the time and is utter nonsense according to the HSE. Trapeze artists are not covered by the Work at Height Regulations because hard hats are worn to prevent people being hit from falling objects. "Hard hats do an excellent job of protecting building workers from falling debris - but they have no place on a trapeze," says the HSE.
