Someone has stepped forward to claim the £200,000 found by contractors in an air vent in the Birmingham Beetham Tower

Police have confirmed that someone has come forward to claim £200,000 found by two workers in the Beetham Tower in Birmingham.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said somebody claiming the money had made themselves known to the police.

Two Polish workers found the cash while working on air conditioning in a luxury apartment on the 26th floor.

West Midlands Police subsequently seized a “substantial amount of cash” following a search of the property.

The 29-storey Beetham Tower is the tallest residential tower in Birmingham.
