Firm links up with Careys for £150m job
Westminster council has appointed a joint venture of Murphy and Careys to revamp Oxford Street in the middle of London.
The pair have been asked to improve the area for shoppers with new public piazzas at Oxford Circus along with other public realm improvements.
In all, the two will work on almost 100 projects across the length of the street.
The work is also designed to cut congestion and improve cycle routes.
Westminster’s cabinet member for planning Richard Beddoe said: “[This appointment] is a clear statement that we mean business and we remain fully focused on delivering the much-needed improvements that will future proof this much-loved area for generations to come.”
