Wembley contractor denies reports that FA Cup Final will be played at Cardiff.
Wembley contractor Multiplex has denied reports this week that a decision has been made to hold the FA Cup Final at Cardiff.
News reports on Wednesday said that Wembley would definitely not be ready to hold the FA Cup Final in May. But Multiplex insisted that the firm was still working towards the cup final deadline.
A Multiplex spokesperson said: "We hold by the briefing we gave last week. We are still working towards the end of March, and there is a 70% chance the project will be ready by that date."
FA spokesperson Adrian Bevington also insisted that no venue had yet been determined for the FA Cup Final.
Multiplex has been working towards a March 31 deadline to hand the £757m stadium over to the Football Association.
The company said recently that it could only achieve the deadline if its work continued without any further hitches. Multiplex expects to lose up to £75m as a result of the work.
