Ancon has added a shear load connector for expansion joints in large, ground bearing concrete floor slabs.

Called MultiJoint, the product is intended for applications including factories and distribution centres, where high loads are the norm. The connector acts as formwork during construction then protects the edge of the slab at the expansion joint from damage from wheeled traffic while transferring loads between each floor section. It features two 12mm wide steel rails that protect the edge and plate dowels that transfer loads from the concrete to the connector. It is available in standard 3m lengths and to suit various slab depths.
