Riyadh plant is due to be completed by 2013
Mott MacDonald has won a place on a £1bn gas-fired power plant project in Saudi Arabia to review engineering, procurement and designs.
The Riyadh PP11 plant is due to be completed by 2013 and will be the the largest gas plant in the kingdom, producing around 1700MW of electricity.
Mott MacDonald will also supervise construction of the power station and a 380 kilovolt electricity substation.
Claudio Tassistro, project director at Mott MacDonald, said: “We are delighted to be appointed on this mega project for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which marks our largest project to date in the country. For over 100 years we’ve played a leading role in helping clients deliver some of the world’s most challenging and prestigious projects in power.”
“Mott MacDonald has a strong track record of delivering power projects in the Middle East and we look forward to demonstrating our world class skills,” he said.
