Firm set to take on consultancy roles on Foxconn Plaza
Mott MacDonald has been hired to deliver engineering, procurement and construction management services on a 21-storey technology firm headquarters in Shanghai’s financial district.
Shanghai Foxconn Plaza will offer 82,000m2 of space above and below ground at a site near the Huang Pu River, as well as parking for 500 vehicles.
Mott MacDonald project director Sam Hung said the building was targeting both the US Green Building Council’s LEED “platinum” medal and China’s national two star green building certificate.
“The design includes sustainable features such as a double curtain wall façade, rainwater harvesting, LED lighting, solar panels and geothermal heat exchange,” he said.
The building is due for completion by the end of 2017.
