Gulf Petrochem signs up consultant for development of oil storage terminal
Mott MacDonald has won a £100m contract to develop an oil storage terminal in the UAE.
The UK consultancy firm has been appointed by Gulf Petrochem to provide consultancy services for engineering, procurement and construction management on the project in Fujairah, on the east coast of UAE.
Conceptual design, cost consultancy and feasibility assessments are all part of the project, which is due to be completed by the end of 2010.
Mott MacDonald’s project director Sam Mathew said: “We are delighted to be awarded this prestigious contract which follows successful completion of a consultancy commission for Gulf Petrochem last year.
“A long term approach is being considered in the designs and of particular interest is that a bulk blending facility for producing unleaded gasoline and different grades of fuel oils is to be included in the design.”
