The low-carbon construction innovation and growth team, led by new chief construction adviser Paul Morrell, met for the first time on Tuesday
Its members include Keith Clarke, chief executive of Atkins; Nick Pollard, chief executive of Bovis Lend Lease; Mark Clare, chief executive of Barratt; John Armitt, chair of the Olympic Delivery Authority; and Tony Douglas, former chief operating officer of Laing O’Rourke.
Douglas told Building he planned to continue his work on the panel despite his exit from the contractor last month.
The panel was launched by business secretary Peter Mandelson to examine ways of slashing carbon emissions in the construction sector. He laid down a challenge to members, for the industry to be “fit for purpose” to deliver a low-carbon future.
