Smarte East Alliance appoints firm for construction works
Morgan Sindall’s construction and infrastructure division has been appointed to a £500m framework in the East of England.
Smarte East Alliance has appointed the firm to its framework contract for major building construction works.
The four-year framework has a total anticipated spend of up to £500m across three Lots. Morgan Sindall has been appointed on Lot 2, for projects ranging in value from £550,000 to under £2.5m, and Lot 3, for projects valued at £2.5m and above.
Six contractors will compete for the projects in Lot 2 while four contractors will compete in Lot 3.
The Smarte East Alliance is grouping between three east of England authorities – Essex, Hertfordshire and Suffolk County Councils. The alliance was formed with the aim of achieving efficiency and reliability in the procurement and delivery of public sector capital works projects.
Paul Smith, chief executive of Morgan Sindall Group, said: “We are delighted to be appointed to this framework. The appointment demonstrates our ability to deliver a wide range of high quality construction projects and our strong footprint across the East of England.
“We look forward to working alongside the three councils throughout the duration of the four-year framework.”
