Berkeley Group and Carey Group have joined
Housebuilder Berkeley Group and specialist contractor Carey Group have become the latest organisations to join trade body Build UK.
The duo join a rush of new members, including the first professional body, the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).
In recent months Build UK, which primarily represents thousands of tier one and specialist contractors, has also signed up several clients, including Argent, Great Portland Estates Lipton Rogers and Quintain.
Build UK chief executive Suzannah Nichol said: “With a growing number of clients, contractors and specialist contractors joining Build UK, we can up the pace of change in the industry.”
Karl Whiteman, divisional managing director at Berkeley Group, said: “We are ready to roll up our sleeves to tackle the industry’s challenges together, ensuring we have the skills to deliver the UK’s housing infrastructure.”
Paul Johnson, group HSEQT director at Carey Group said: “Careys is at the forefront of specialist contracting and we believe that driving collaboration through the supply chain is critical to the industry’s future success. Build UK is the organisation to facilitate positive change across the industry for the benefit of all.”
