Outsourcing giants reports positive start to the new and looks for further acquisitions in the energy and health sectors
Mitie has reported a strong start to the year, with the outsourcing giant eyeing further acquisitions in the energy and health sectors.
In a trading update for the period to 1 April 2013, Mitie said it had made a “positive start to the year”, with a “strong pipeline of sales opportunities”.
The firm said its performance was in line with management expectations and that it was eyeing the possibility of new acquisitions, particularly in “niche markets within the healthcare and energy sectors”.
The firm added: “The financial year has started well and we have a growing order book as well as a strong pipeline of sales opportunities.
“We are positive about the range of outsourcing opportunities across our key markets and confident that we will continue to build on our long track record of sustainable profitable growth.”
In May, Mitie announced it was quitting the M&E market due to the tightening margins in the sector.
