Turnover up 30.3% to £1.3bn with solid growth in engineering, facilities and property services

Engineering and support services group Mitie has reported a 12% rise in pre-tax profit to £56.6m for the year ended 31 March.

Turnover was also up, rising 31.3% to £1.3bn from £936.6m in 2006. The group’s three divisions – facilities services, engineering services and property services – all reported solid growth.

Ruby McGregor-Smith, chief executive, said: “Mitie has delivered another year of strong growth in revenue, profits and dividends. We continue to focus on our growth strategy by increasing market share whilst maintaining margins.”

The company also announced that Colin Acheson, the director responsible for engineering services, will be retiring in March 2008. He remains as chairman of engineering division until this date, while an internal successor, Mike Tivey, will lead the business going forward.
