Chairman John Wright said the company offered services from design and town planning to engineering and partnering advice.
He said: "I believe that clients are going to be looking for ready-formed integrated teams committed to project partnering – and others will follow. This is the way forward. I just know this is the way that it must go." Wright said the Egan principles were already changing the culture of construction. This could be seen in the growth of partnering. He said: "Sir John [Egan] and his team got it exactly right." Wright said he was committed to the principles and this belief had been strengthened by his experiences with partnering demonstration projects.
He said: "They were just superb and I thoroughly enjoyed them. There was very high client satisfaction. Partnering delivers better projects at lower costs and on time. In my experience, you just can't achieve that with traditional procurement." He added that the new company was already involved in a number of major projects, including a comprehensive school on a greenfield site. This contract was won using the Egan principles.

He said: "Our aim is to win as many Eganesque contracts as we can to show clients that this is the way forward." The firm is also considering adding construction management to its range of services, possibly next year.
The merger between Modern Design and Ferguson & Mcllveen came about after the firms worked on a number of projects together, Wright added.
