Jack Pringle, this year’s guest judge, is a former president of the RIBA.

He is also a partner in Pringle Brandon, which specialises in workplace design, and director of Pringle Brandon Consulting, a company that advises clients on strategic space issues.

Among his many achievements is Barclays’ headquarters in Canary Wharf, a research centre in Surrey and two hotels in the Midlands.

Pringle, who studied at Bristol University before qualifying as an architect, is also leading the design of the fit-out for Allen & Overy’s new office in London’s historic Spitalfields.

Pringle, who is now RIBA vice president of policy and strategy, says he is particularly interested in how smart design can support business objectives.
