Xpelair has added to its Carbonlite range of mechanical ventilation systems with the Xcell 300, a mechanical ventilation unit with heat recovery
The unit, which is available in three models – QV, QVW and QVI – is suitable for three to five-bedroom houses and offers up to 92% heat recovery and specific fan powers of 0.6W/l/s as well as meeting Energy Saving Trust best practice compliance.
It has been developed to allow installers greater flexibility, claims the company. The unit combines a highly insulated and lightweight structural foam body that can be wall or loft mounted. It also has a digital touch pad control to ensure that set up and commissioning are kept simple.
In addition, the easy-turn front access panel allows for simple access to the cell, filters and motors for maintenance and replacement.
For maximum control, the QV model has a manual two-speed controller and the QVW model features a three-speed controller with a winter defrost cycle, filter inspection and motor failure indicators, with a facility for automatic control of the unit by a combination of humidstats, carbon dioxide or smoke sensors. The QWI model has a time control switch and has the same automatic controls as the QVW, with the added benefit of a summer bypass.
