Council approves 10-year upgrade, repair and maintenance agreement for 112,500 homes
Repairs and maintenance firm Mears has won a £200m contract to provide housing services to Brighton and Hove City Council.
Under the deal, which was approved by the council on 9 July, the firm will provide housing stock upgrades, responsive repairs and maintenance services for a 10-year period, starting in early 2010. Brighton and Hove manages 112,500 homes.
Mears chief executive Bob Holt said: “Working together with Brighton and Hove we can deliver the tangible improvements into the community which are so important to the people that live there.
“I believe this to be one of the largest contracts of its kind awarded in the UK ever and represents a significant move to a long term partnership for Brighton and Hove.”
