Leach Rhodes Walker-designed project will include upgrade of baggage handling facilities
McLaren Construction has won a £6m deal as main contractor for the extension to Liverpool John Lennon school.
The deal includes an upgrade of baggage handling facilities and adding extra retail space and work will start next month with completion expected by the end of next summer.
Manchester architect Leach Rhodes Walker has designed the airport extension which will add an extra 45% of retail space and 80,000 square feet.
Kevin Taylor, chairman of McLaren, said: “This job fits in with our strategy of winning more work across the north of England.”

McLaren recently opened an office in Warrington as part of their strategic growth in the north of England.
Latest figures posted at Companies House show McLaren made an operating profit of £15.5m on the back of £130m turnover for the year to July 2008. Turnover this year is expected to hit £160m.
