John Carter will join a as non-executive director from 1 October
Retirement housebuilder McCarthy & Stone has appointed Travis Perkins chief executive John Carter as a non-executive director.
Carter, whose role will take effect from 1 October, joined builders merchant Travis Perkins in 1978 and has held a number of senior strategic roles within the business before being appointed as chief executive in 2014.
John White, chairman at McCarthy & Stone, said: “The Board and I look forward to working with John as we increase our build programme and deliver our medium-term growth objective of selling more than 3,000 units per annum.”
Stone’s appointment comes three weeks after McCarthy & Stone saw trading improve throughout the year after shrugging off worries following last year’s EU referendum and June’s general election.
