Architect already working on Laing O’Rourke’s Central station deal
John McAslan + Partners has won a scheme to design a new Metro station in Sydney.
The architect behind the extension of London’s King’s Cross station has teamed up with local firm Woods Bagot for the new station at Waterloo.
The station, which is expected to cost A$800m (£425m), will be built by Melbourne-based contractor John Holland.
McAslan is working on the station while Woods Bagot is drawing up plans for an over-station development which will run across five buildings.
The pair are already working together on a new Metro station for Sydney’s Central station. The A$995m (£526m) scheme is being built by Laing O’Rourke and is due to finish in 2024.
