London developer’s latest deal to come up for grabs is at Tottenham Court Road
Sir Robert McAlpine is getting another chance to land its debut job for Derwent with the firm one of three shortlisted for a £60m office and retail scheme on Tottenham Court Road.
The firm missed out on the chance to build a £158m mixed-use project in Baker Street for the London developer with that job heading the way of Laing O’Rourke.
McAlpine is up against Kier and Skanska, which is coming to the end of Derwent’s Featherstone Building scheme, for the two stage tender on the Network Building, which will be built at 95-100 Tottenham Court Road and is halfway between Goodge Street and Warren Street tube stations.
The seven-storey building will cover just over 64,000 sq ft of space and has been designed by Piercy & Company which has worked with Derwent before on its Turnmills and Copyright buildings. Project manager is Blackburn.
Work is expected to start by the middle of the year with the job due for completion in 2025.
Meanwhile, Derwent has brought in Henry Robinson as senior development manager from CBRE.
Robinson spent seven years at the US real estate giant and was its development director for the One Crown Place mixed-use scheme near Liverpool Street which was completed by Mace last year.
