Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd has been chosen as preferred delivery partner of NTW Solutions, a subsidiary of Northumberland Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust.
Tyne and Wear is one of the largest mental health and disability trusts in England, employing more than 6,000 staff and serving a population of 1.4 million.
The partnership will last for five years and is expected to generate at least £50m of construction turnover through a combination of minor and major capital works, which are designed to help the trust deliver the modernisation of its estate.
Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd was selected from the PAGABO National Framework for Major Construction Works.
Mark Gibson, Sir Robert McAlpine’ managing director for the North east.“This is an extremely significant appointment for us nationally and locally, as it the first contract awarded to us through PAGABO and builds on our delivery of mental health projects such as those delivered for Tees, Esk & Wear Valley NHS Foundation Trust,” said
“We look forward to working with NTW Solutions in this exciting new partnership,” he added.
John Carson, NTW Solutions’ head of capital development and planning, said: “We are delighted that we can continue to attract high caliber construction companies. The values and integrity of Sir Robert McAlpine seem very much aligned with ours at NTW Solutions.
“This seems like a good fit and early integration has been extremely positive. I’m sure combining our technical expertise will boost our capabilities and capacity for delivering the Trust’s Capital programme.”
