Sadiq Khan’s office to speak to firms next week
Sadiq Khan’s office is due to meet London’s 15 largest housing associations next week in order to reassure them that the mayor plans to press on with his housing programme in the aftermath of last week’s European Union referendum result.
The mayor’s deputy for housing James Murray said the mayor is also planning to speed up new planning rules to support new ‘build-to-rent’ developments.
Murray told a London Assembly planning committee today: “There is no doubt that the vote has already caused uncertainty that will make it harder to fix the housing crisis but our message to developers, housing associations and local authorities is that we will do all we can to give you the support and certainty you need to get through these difficult times.”
