The 183m high observation mast in Brighton would be higher than the London Eye.
Architect Marks Barfield are set to once again stamp their mark on the English skyline, this time with a 183m high observation mast in Brighton.
Taller than Blackpool Tower and the London Eye, which is also designed by the husband and wife team, the Brighton i-360 has been commissioned by Brighton West Pier Trust for a site on the West Pier.
The pod, which will be able to carry up to 100 at one time, will rise to a height of 150m above sea level and will allow people to see 25 miles on a clear day.
The project, which will be entirely privately funded, will cost between £15-20m and will take two years to complete. The observation mast has not yet been submitted for planning approval.
