Deputy COO at Mace replaces trade body’s joint-chairmen Kevin Louch and James Wates, who have stepped down after two years at the helm
Build UK announced last week the appointment of Mark Castle, Mace’s deputy chief operating officer, as the trade body’s new chairman.
Castle (pictured) replaces Build UK’s joint-chairmen Kevin Louch and James Wates, who have stepped down after two years at the helm.
Brendan Kerr, chief executive at Keltbray, has been appointed vice-chairman.
Castle said Build UK would be “leading and driving change by working collaboratively to set our expectations, agree shared objectives and achieving better outcomes resulting in stronger, more profitable businesses for all of us.
“With the opportunities offered by the Construction Sector Deal, which Build UK is driving through the Construction Leadership Council, now is the time for all of us to commit to upping our game.”
Build UK also announced five new members: Aecom, Canary Wharf Contractors, John Sisk & Son, Heathrow Airport Holdings and, as an associate member, BRE.
