Corporate Manslaughter Bill had its second reading stage in the Commons this week

The government’s corporate manslaughter bill passed its second reading in the House of Commons on Tuesday. The bill will now be debated in committees.

The legislation is expected to come into force next spring and is aimed at making it easier to prosecute individual directors and their companies for health and safety failings which result in fatalities.
