Investment partner sought for new homes in Northern Gateway vision
Manchester Place is looking for an investment partner to deliver up to 8,000 homes as part of the body’s Northern Gateway vision.
Working with Manchester City Council and the Homes and Communities Agency, the new homes are expected to be delivered over a 10 – 15-year period. According to Manchester Place, an investment partner is being offered a “transformational role” working alongside the public sector in delivering the future growth of the city.
The opportunity area outlined for the Northern Gateway spreads across 120 hectares in an arc from Victoria Station and takes in areas of NOMA, the Lower Irk Valley, New Cross and Collyhurst.
Co-chair of the Manchester Place board Howard Bernstein, said: “We are seeking an investment partner with the financial resource, understanding and expertise together with an aligned aspiration to jointly drive forward and deliver this redevelopment.
“High quality housing is key to the sustained long term economic growth of the city and we need to meet the long term needs of existing and future residents and realise the full potential of the Northern Gateway.”
