Man trapped after mosque collapse

Emergency workers are battling to free a man trapped under rubble after a partial ceiling collapse in a south London mosque.

Another man has already been rescued from the site of the mosque in Balham, where the road has been sealed off.

Building work was believed to have been under way at the time of the accident.

The injuries of the man already rescued are not said to be serious, but an air ambulance is standing by to speed the trapped man to hospital when he emerges.

The Health and Safety Executive has been told.
